1. Operator and acceptance
These terms are between you and the publisher of ForgeDesk (“ForgeDesk,” “we,” or “us”). By using forgedesk.dev or downloading, installing, or using ForgeDesk, you agree to these terms. If you use ForgeDesk for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
The service is not intended for children under 13. If you have not reached the age of legal capacity where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree for you.
2. Limited software license
Subject to these terms, ForgeDesk grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the provided object-code software on devices you control for lawful personal or internal business purposes. No ownership of ForgeDesk intellectual property is transferred.
You may not sell, sublicense, distribute modified installers, remove proprietary notices, use ForgeDesk to provide an unauthorized hosted service, or reverse engineer the proprietary portions except where applicable law expressly permits it. Separate written terms control if they accompany a particular release.
3. Third-party software and services
ForgeDesk works with components and services that have their own terms, including Node.js packages, Microsoft WebView2, Ollama, OpenCode, local models, and optional connectors. Open-source components remain licensed under their respective licenses. Third-party notices included with the installed application are part of the distribution.
You are responsible for obtaining and following the terms for models, endpoints, accounts, content, MCP servers, and tools you choose to connect. ForgeDesk does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their availability or conduct.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use ForgeDesk to:
- violate law, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, security rules, or contractual duties;
- gain unauthorized access to a device, account, network, data, or service;
- create or distribute malware, evade security controls, or materially disrupt others;
- misrepresent automated output as independently verified fact; or
- use a connected account or third party’s data without the permission and lawful basis required.
5. AI output and computer tools
AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, insecure, biased, or unsuitable. A local model may be smaller and less reliable than a hosted model. You must review important output, file changes, commands, messages, purchases, and other actions before relying on them.
Supervised approval and Full access are application controls, not an operating-system sandbox. Commands normally run with your Windows-user authority; an explicitly approved administrator session can have broader authority. Full access can affect files outside the selected project. Keep backups and do not use ForgeDesk as the sole control for high-risk decisions.
Do not rely on ForgeDesk for emergency response or as a substitute for licensed medical, legal, financial, safety, employment, or other regulated professional judgment. You remain responsible for how you use output and tools.
6. Updates, changes, and availability
Installed copies periodically check forgedesk.dev for signed updates and may install a newer signed release when idle. Updates can add, change, repair, or remove functionality. You may stop using and uninstall ForgeDesk, but uninstalling may leave your local data and project files behind.
ForgeDesk may change or discontinue the website, downloads, update service, or optional features. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every PC or model, or a particular support lifetime until a published support policy says otherwise.
7. Your content, local data, and backups
You retain rights you already have in project files, prompts, and other content you provide. You grant the software and any optional provider you select the limited permission needed to process that content for the task you request.
You are responsible for lawful access to the content, for reviewing what a task may send to a connector or remote model, and for maintaining appropriate source control and backups. Checkpoints have eligibility and size limits and are not a complete backup system. See the Privacy Notice for data handling and deletion information.
8. Warranties and liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, ForgeDesk is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes an express promise or mandatory consumer warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the publisher will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, data, or opportunity; or damage caused by unreviewed AI output, connected services, or commands you authorize. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent the applicable law permits.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limits. In that case, those provisions apply only to the lawful extent, and your non-waivable consumer rights remain unaffected.
9. Termination, law, changes, and contact
Your license ends if you materially breach these terms. On termination, stop using and remove the software, subject to any rights that applicable law requires. Provisions that logically survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—continue to apply.
The final governing law and venue must reflect the publisher’s actual legal establishment and cannot override mandatory consumer protections where you live. Before those details are published, disputes should first be raised through the contact below in good faith.
We may update these terms prospectively. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and presented through the website or application where appropriate.
